Report from Simperopol, 14th march - 11 pm
A group of bikers, including the pro-Putin ‘Night Wolves’, rolled into Lenin Square carrying Russian flags.
The military unit of the Internal Troops is being blocked in the centre of Simferopol, near the central market square, by pro-Russian forces (including military pensioners), who are trying to prevent the theft of weapons from warehouses.
An attempt to observe the case: a girl was talking to a soldier from the blocked unit. After an exchangeof packages, and after she had moved away from the fence of the unit, she was blocked for 1.5 hours – at first, by a single man, then by a group of 5-8 men, who were trying to persuade her, persistently, but kindly, to hand over the package to them. Tatiana (our reporter) saw that the girl was trying to hold on to the bulletproof vest, and the men who were blocking her, claimed that they were only preventing its resale. After the incident, the girl quickly ran away. It has been impossible to establish contact with her.
